A deposit of 30% is required upon confirmation, with the remaining balance payable in cash upon arrival. All cash payments must be made in USD notes printed from year 2017 or later. Clients bookings are accepted on the understanding that the clients appreciate the possible risks inherent in travel and in particular adventurous activities such as trekking, climbing, walking safaris, game driving and diving. Bookings can only be accepted for persons under eighteen years of age when accompanied by an adult who will be responsible for them.
(a) Cancellation:
Cancellations must be submitted in writing (email is acceptable). Deposits are refundable if notice is given at least 60 working days prior to arrival.
Full refunds (no cancellation fees) are offered for:
Ebola outbreaks
Terrorist events
(b) Postponements/Amendments:
Travel dates may be changed if a written notice (email acceptable) is provided at least 30 working days before arrival.
(c) Refunds:
Refunds will be processed within 90–120 working days after receiving cancellation notice. Please provide account details or preferred method for receiving the refund.
Rates include all vehicle and driver costs per the itinerary, meals during safaris, and entry fees to National Parks and Game Reserves.
Vehicles (cars, mini-buses, 4×4 Land Cruisers, coaches, or trucks) are provided according to the route and number of clients. The company may use subcontractors. All driver-guides speak English.
Accommodation is based on twin-sharing rooms or tents. Private bathrooms are provided where possible. Single rooms are available at extra cost but cannot be guaranteed. Named hotels/lodges indicate category and similar alternatives may be used.
The company may alter routes or cancel tours if necessary. It reserves the right to accept, retain, or decline any participant, with a fair refund if applicable. Prices may change due to tariffs or other factors without notice.
No compensation is offered for changes caused by war, riots, strikes, terrorism, natural disasters, airport/port closures, adverse weather, or other events beyond our control. In such cases, SAWAS Ltd will either provide an alternative comparable arrangement or refund monies paid (excluding deposit).
The company and its agents act on behalf of passengers in matters relating to accommodation, tours, and transport, but are not liable for injury, delay, loss, or damage beyond its control. Liability for passengers in company vehicles is governed by the laws of the country where the tour occurs. All claims fall under the jurisdiction of the local courts.
Expeditions carry inherent risks; participants must accept these. Travelers are advised to have personal accident and medical insurance, which can be arranged through SAWAS at a reasonable cost.
Mountain climbing gear is not included but can be rented for Mountain Safaris.
Tipping is optional. If you wish to show appreciation for good service, it is welcomed.
Electricity is 220–240V AC. Safari vehicles have 12V cigarette lighter sockets. Private tented camps may lack electricity, but lodges and private houses have it. Bring appropriate adapters.
Respect local communities when taking photographs. Always seek permission before photographing individuals. Guides can assist in negotiating permissions.
Optimal wildlife viewing is in the early morning and late afternoon. Guests should expect to rise early to enjoy game drives or rides during these times.
